Korean Cafeteria Food

Today's the first day back after the Lunar New Year holiday. School lunch isn't as exciting to me today because all I've been doing is eating Korean food. I want some American food.

kimchi,
chocolate cake,
apple slices,
cabbage soup (배추국),
and spinach and bacon fried rice with pork black bean sauce (시금치베이컨볶음밥, 돼지고기자장볶음소스)

  1. Now I know what to do with the half bag of frozen spinach. Maybe I should also get a jar of black bean paste to emulate this. Did you like it?

  2. You definitely need some kind of sauce bc the spinach+bacon is bland. Kimchi or 고추장 might work, or just open up a bag of 짜파게티!

    1. I made this last week with rice that has been sitting in our fridge for a good length of time. (This kind of rice is good for fried rice.) Instead of using those ingredients, I used radish, onion and Korean-style bacon (did the Lunch Mothers use American-style bacon?) to make 짜장밤. I thought it was tasty, and your brother-in-law thought likewise. I still have the half a bag of frozen spinach that I don't know how to deal with.
